EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH

PRESS RELEASE July 29, 2008 SNOQUALMIE WA

Richard Todd, Independent candidate in the Eighth Congressional District announces opposition to Dave Reichert and Darcy Burner on the issue of embryonic stem cell research.
Todd states, “Both candidates of the two major political factions are supporting the destruction of human life by their stand relative to embryonic stem cells. America has recently experienced the loss of the high moral ground on the issue of human torture and the treatment of prisoners at Abu Graib. The treatment of prisoners in defiance of the standards established by the Geneva Convention has proven a slippery slope for America’s moral stature in the eyes of the world. Destroying human life in its embryonic stage is a practice, which would only bring further shame on the American culture.
We, as a people, are deserving of representation that carefully examines the standards for which our nation is known. It is for us, the living, to hold high the torch of liberty for which our brave defenders have given their lives and to protect the innocent beings at the embryonic stage of life.”
