INDEPENDENT'S DAY IN SNOQUALMIE

Eleven score and twelve years ago our forefathers brought forth upon this continent a new nation, conceived in Liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. We are now witnessing a titanic conflict between two political factions testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated can long endure.
We are met on a great battle-field of that war, not of cannon and cavalry, but the all encompassing struggle to prevent the two dominant political factions --- Democrat and Republican --- in their lust for power, from pulling down the edifice so carefully created by the Framers of our Constitution.
It is for us, the American electorate to show the courage to elect Independent candidates to public office so that that nation might live. It is we, the living, who must dedicate ourselves to the unfinished work so nobly advanced by those brave men who established our Independence and crafted a Constitutional Republic in which dominance by a political faction is avoided to the greatest extent possible without infringement of our hard-won Liberty.
Let us therefore rededicate ourselves to the great task, still before us, to hold the political factions in check by electing Independent representatives devoted solely to their constituents; so that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish.
